Primary Focus
Assigned to: Sales Department. Sales Associate: The sale of bicycles parts and accessories to match consumer needs. Reports to sales manager.


Responsibilities

As a member of the sales team you will be responsible for direct bicycle and bicycle accessory sales, answering phone calls, the creation of quotations, as well as developing and maintaining strong lasting relationships with the store’s wide customer base. A great sales associate is able to confidently and enthusiastically educate to help the consumer navigate the cycling industry. Listening and confidently translating wants and needs into solutions are hallmarks of a great sales associate.
We provide initial on site industry based training. A successful candidate will naturally learn about the cycling industry through personal initiative. Responsibilities also include assisting in store operations by making positive recommendations for new products, price adjustments, and beneficial changes to store processes and procedures. The organization and merchandising of stock are responsibilities as well as assisting with opening and closing duties.
Prior knowledge of the cycling industry is an asset; however, it is not required.

 Responsibilities 
 

As a service writer/mechanic your responsibilities will include developing relationships with The Bike Shops wide customer base. A great service writer is able to quickly and accurately diagnose all manner of mechanical issues quickly forming solutions. The ability to listen is paramount in creating a comfortable environment to facilitate a smooth transaction for the consumer. A great service writer is able to produce a seamless transaction between the consumer and the bike shop by developing an accurate estimate for services/parts; moreover, the ability to effectively schedule for our team of mechanics is paramount. Effective communication is a requirement as well as the personal drive to continually meet and exceed our clients’ expectations.

Primary Focus
The Shipping and Receiving position inspects, verifies, and keeps records on incoming shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards. Reports to: store manager, multi-location purchaser. Works with: e-commerce manager, warehouse driver.


Responsibilities 
 

Offloading shipping trucks, unpacking and examining product, checking contents to ensure contents match orders (Quantity, Quality, Price). Rejects damaged items, records shortages, and works with distributors to rectify these damages and shortages for credit or replacement. A receiving clerk must have a great eye for detail and basic math skills as well as, adequate physical strength to unload packages and the clerical skills to update records and follow up with suppliers. The goal is to ensure we receive the correct packages and stock them appropriately.


Other position responsibilities include: 
 
  • Scheduling deliveries of shipments such as pre-season product booking orders, special orders for customers, etc
  • Working with procurement staff to list expected deliveries
  • Picking, processing and packaging e-commerce orders
  • PO creation when necessary
  • Inter-store Transfers. Picking, packaging, and working with receiving departments of location
  • Order processing, pulling products and packaging for movement
  • Working with sales and service departments to facilitate the warranty process
  • Re-stock of store
  • Inventory management/control
  • Tagging/labeling received product
  • Contacting customers when product arrives
  • Working directly with service and sales staff regarding delivery times for product

  • Physical Demands
    This position is very active and requires: standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 40 pounds (Boxed Bicycles and associated product).


    Position Requirements:
    • Must have a working understanding of Microsoft Excel
    • Experience using basic inventory/retail point of sale systems
    • Ascend retail management Software.Experience is and asset but not a necessity

    As a cashier the bulk of your responsibilities will include: processing transactions for customers and keying in transactions for service and sales staff. The cashier is responsible for ensuring that customer in store experience is a fluid and enjoyable one. Other duties include answering the phone and directing calls to the appropriate department. Each day the cashier is responsible for opening and closing the tills and completing cash out procedures. Basic on-site training is provided.

    • Good verbal/written communication skills
    • Positive up beat cheery personality is a must
    • No experience in the bicycle industry necessary
    • Knowledge of retail point of sale computer systems an asset
